A good query, about curiosity in business. My not-well-thought-through answer is: It depends. If you are talking about big companies, forget about it, mostly. If you are talking about small companies, maybe.

Does it matter? You bet. It's tough to learn anything without some measure of curiosity, and tough to be creative. If you can't learn anything, you are living a dead life, and your value to a company is minimized. If you can't be creative, there are plenty of big companies that want you because they only want people to follow standard procedures and processes.

Maybe I've been reading too much Hugh MacLeod. If you don't now who he is, google him (hint: he wrote something called How to Be Creative that is a gem, and free for the asking).
